The main commercial corridor running through Bethesda is Route 355, 355 runs through Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown and up through northern Montgomery County ending in Frederick, Maryland. Changing its name from 355, Hungerford Road, Frederick Road, South Frederick Road, North Frederick Road, Frederick Road, Urbana Pike, to Market Street. "Downtown Bethesda", is centered at the intersection of Wisconsin and route 187 (Old Georgetown Road).
